Every AI comparison site we could find had the same problem: they wouldn't commit. "It depends on your use case." "Both have their merits." That's not helpful when you have work to do and need to know which tool to open.
WhichAIBest.com exists to give direct, honest verdicts. We test free tiers — because most users don't want to pay $20/month before knowing if a tool works for them. We give a clear winner for each use case. And we tell you when an AI has a weakness, even if that's uncomfortable.
What makes us different
1. Verdict-first
Every comparison page tells you who wins before you scroll. The TL;DR box is above the fold on every page. If you want the full analysis, it's there. If you just need the answer, you have it in 10 seconds.
2. Free tier focus
We only compare what's available on free plans unless we specifically note otherwise. Paid tier comparisons are clearly labelled. Most people want to try before paying and free tiers have gotten genuinely good in 2026.
3. Monthly freshness
AI models change fast. Free tier limits, context windows, and available features shift every few months. Every comparison page shows a "Last verified" badge so you know if the data is current. We update pages within weeks of major model changes.
4. Southeast Asia focus
Most AI comparison sites are written from a US or European perspective. We cover Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines specifically: which models work without a VPN, which have SGD pricing, which handle Malay and Thai well, and which raise data privacy concerns for SEA users.
5. Honest about weaknesses
We don't hide negatives. If DeepSeek stores your data in China, we say so clearly. If Claude's daily limit is frustrating, we note it. If ChatGPT gets confident facts wrong, it's in our review. Honest weaknesses make the strengths more credible.
How we test
We run the same prompts through each model on their free tiers and compare results directly. For writing, we look at quality, tone control, and instruction-following. For coding, we test accuracy, explanation quality, and context handling. For research, we check factual accuracy and citation quality.
All testing is done on free accounts unless otherwise stated. We do not accept payments for positive reviews or rankings.
